I was born and raised on Cape Cod, and I am actually a 14th generation descendant on my Mom’s side. My biggest and best accomplishment is having raised and been able to love my son and daughter who are both successful and happy in their own right, and now I am a proud nana too. I have been in banking for 20 years which has allowed me to have time for my family and to be able to give back to my community in many ways. They include Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Easter Seals, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, GreenCAPE, CC5’s Credit for Life, Cape Cod Trail Race, and now Cape Cod MOVES. I am proud to be on the board of this new dynamic, health and charitable focused organization.
Ed and his family have been part of the Cape Cod community since 1972. He’s a retired Chief Master Sergeant from the ANG at Otis with 32 years of service. Ed’s run 40 marathons and he and his wife, Cathy, continue an active life with running, hiking and gym activities being a big part of it. Both of them volunteer at many events, with a combined 80+ years with the Falmouth Road Race.
Carl enjoys living life on life’s terms. He is the most proud of being the father to Jordan and Abigail and sharing each day with his partner Sandra. Carl was the first person on Cape Cod to finish a marathon in all 50 states and enjoys being active. He is proud of helping people get to their first starting line and he has been a part of several events that helped people heal after the Boston Marathon bombing. Smile. Move Forward. Help Others. Repeat.
Mike is an outdoors enthusiast. He loves doing anything he can to appreciate the beauty of our planet. If he can get some exercise in the process, it’s an added bonus. In his time off you may find him doing things such as climbing a mountain, scuba diving, or snowshoeing. While out kayaking one day he decided he needed to start running so that he could complete a marathon. A year later he completed his first of many marathons.
Kelly has spent most of her life enjoying the natural beauty of Cape Cod. She was grew up in Yarmouthport and moved to the Falmouth when she met her husband 27 years ago. Together they raised their 4 children in Mashpee. Kelly loves the outdoors whether on a foot, bike or boat. When she’s not hiking, biking or swimming, she can be found tending to her family or playing in her many gardens. She is happy to be part of Cape Cod MOVES and to give to her community in any way possible. Her motto is: “Not all who wander are lost.”
Mike enjoys participating in many outdoor activities including running, cycling, swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking. He is a 10-time Ironman triathlon finisher and has competed in many marathons including Boston and Chicago. Mike cherishes time spent with his wife Jo-Ann on the beaches of Falmouth and the Cape Cod National Seashore. He is a volunteer with the Falmouth Service Center, the Falmouth Shellfishing Department and is a WE CAN champion.
I have made my home on Cape Cod for 35 plus years. As a self-employed “workaholic” , I am constantly striving to get outside. I enjoy hiking the White Mtns of NH, walking Cape Beaches, running many of our local races, and bike riding on our roads and pathways. Having recently completed my 200 hr yoga training, a life long believer in movement, and a desire to give back to the community I feel Cape Cod Moves, Inc and myself is a natural fit.
