Going the Distance, Sharing the Rewards

When you think of August you think of the New Balance Falmouth Road Race. This epic 7-mile adventure takes us from Woods Hole to Falmouth. Last week I wrote about Ruthe Lew, Jen Berry and Pam Amaral who are getting coaching support and working hard for a distance they have never covered or in Pam’s case getting help to cover again.

This week I want to highlight two fundraising women for Cape Cod MOVES! They also each have a USATF approved coach from Cape Cod MOVES! Jessica will be splitting her donations with Calmer Choice and Laurie with the 300 Committee. These are both amazing 501(c)(3)s. That said, we have worked with so many of the nonprofits that work with the Falmouth Road Race.

Here is the complete list!  https://falmouthroadrace.com/numbers-for-nonprofits/

Laurie GrandmontLaurie Grandmont:

Hi there!

My name is Laurie Grandmont and as you can see from my pink face and clothing that I am passionate about finding a cure for ALL forms of cancer.

My other passion is running and volunteering with Cape Cod MOVES, Inc. My goal is to “pay it forward” to individuals who are struggling with a chronic illness, learning difficulties, or wanting to live life to the fullest, so by running this year’s Falmouth Road Race with your help, is my way of giving back to them.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Again, thank you for your support!

Concurrent with her tenure at Hyannis Chamber, Jessica earned her Bachelor’s and, subsequently, Go Master of Business Administration degrees at Curry College in Milton. Married to Kevin and mother to two sons, Benjamin and William, Jessica and her family reside in West Barnstable. After hours, Jessica is an avid photographer and self-proclaimed beachcomber; she enjoys hiking, running and anything that can be done outdoors on the Cape she has loved all her life. Jessica finds the ever-changing Cape enigmatic and is constantly exploring new byways and the peninsula’s endless beaches, nooks and crannies.

Go to Jessica’s fundraising page to donate. Donations will be split with Calmer Choice

How can you help them? Do you have an idea for a fundraiser for Cape Cod MOVES? This could be something small like a coffee and a run. This could be a pancake breakfast. If you have ideas or want to help then contact us and let’s get them to their fundraising goals! Together the Cape Cod Community is strong. It makes impossible things possible.
